Swedish Tonbruket have had to cancel their performance on Saturday at Tampere Jazz Happening due to a sudden illness. They will be replaced at Happening by the Finnish band Superposition!, which is made up of drummer Olavi Louhivuori, saxophonists Linda Fredriksson and Adele Sauros, and bassist Mikael Saastamoinen.
Superposition! released their second album II (We Jazz Records) in July. The album was described in Suomen Kuvalehti thusly: “Superposition! seems like a group whose idea and pieces have fallen into place very quickly. They hold fast to tradition, but do not imitate. A rare lineup helps them to stand out.” The band raised a lot of interest both in Finland and abroad already with their first album I (We Jazz Records 2020), which also won an Emma Award for Best Jazz Album of the Year.
Superposition! will perform at Pakkahuone tomorrow, Saturday, 2 November 2024 at 21.45.
